Want to access high-quality career guidance within the reach of your phone? Look no further, for Crossing Guard Productions (CGP) is proud to announce the launch of its high‑quality career path app to provide personalized career guidance.. This app has been specifically and carefully designed to meet the needs of millions of children and adults in the USA and globally, to steer them towards the right direction for choosing a career.
With one in four teens dropping out of high school and school counselors routinely stretched thin, the need for personalized career guidance is more urgent than ever. The current 376-to-1 student-to-counselor ratio far exceeds the recommended 250-to-1, leaving counselors across the U.S. overburdened and unable to give every student the attention they deserve.
Thus, we took it upon ourselves to create a career exploration app that will help students explore, at their own pace, the different options available to them and how they can go about pursuing it.
CGP is initially targeting Texas’s 9,100 public schools, which are part of a national landscape of over 124,000 schools and more than 3.2 million public school teachers, with a goal of achieving a 1% teacher adoption rate in the first year of the app’s launch.
With our mentorship app, we hope to bridge the gap in career guidance and will fulfill our mission of empowering every learner to make informed, inspired career choices.
Over the years, it has been unfortunate to see the trend that our youth is dropping out of schools. It is worrisome and, unfortunately, impacts our lives and also future generations. You might ask, what is a major factor for this decline? Well, it is the lack of career awareness among high school-aged youth. Many students, especially those in secondary education, feel uncertain about their future and lack access to good-quality career guidance, or in some cases, any guidance at all.
School counselors, ideally positioned to help students make informed career decisions, are increasingly hindered by administrative tasks. A study by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) found that counselors are overwhelmed with paperwork and testing. This inevitably prevents them from giving time to providing career guidance to students. As a result, teachers often have to take on additional counseling duties, leaving students with less direct support.
In a world where, due to rapid development, career paths are constantly changing, it is difficult, to say the least, for students to find a path that they are passionate about and can excel in. Students are unfortunately left with outdated or generic resources that do not reflect the current job market and the needs of each industry. This gap is further amplified by a lack of awareness about in-demand professions that are projected to grow in the coming years.
The need for an accessible solution for all students is especially urgent in public schools or schools with limited funds. These schools often cannot provide personalized guidance to students due to a lack of awareness, making the situation more urgent. Thus, we provide an innovative solution to this problem, considering logistics and resource constraints in mind, in the form of career videos. Our Career Path App offers a clear path forward, helping students discover the careers of the future and making it easier for educators to guide them through the decision-making process.
At Crossing Guard Productions, we want to make sure that career guidance is accessible for all learners. Our mentorship app, priced at just $1.99, offers a wealth of resources designed to guide students, teachers, and lifelong learners in discovering the right career paths.
